Hello there all you Steemians out there! For those of you that have been following me you know that i have a huge collection of motivational pictures.

Before joining steemit i had no clear goal as to what i wanted to do with the pictures. But whenever i was feeling down i started looking at them. And usually somewhere between the fifth and tenth picture i regained the motivation needed to push on in this life.

Therefore I share one of these pictures with you everyday. And every month I will make a post containing the three pictures you, the Steemians,
valued best. When looking at this valuation I look at the recieved amount of votes, not voting power. All are equal under the sun.

>Motivation is literally the desire to do things. It’s the difference between waking up before dawn to pound the pavement and lazing around the house all day. It’s the crucial element in setting and attaining goals – And research shows you can influence your own levels of motivation and self-control. So figure out what you want, power through the pain period, and start being who you want to be.

Nice post:)

A study, entitled ‘On the reception and detection of pseudo-profound bulls***t’ found that people who are more receptive to such quotes get lower scores in cognitive tests.

Researchers asked 845 volunteers to evaluate a series of ‘inspirational’ statements and say how profound they thought they were and whether they agreed with them.

Participants were then asked to perform a series of cognitive tests.

Writing in the journal, Judgment and Decision Making, lead researcher Gordon Pennycook, a cognitive psychologist at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, said: ‘Although bulls**t is common in everyday life and has attracted attention from philosophers, its reception – critical or ingenuous – has not, to our knowledge, been subject to empirical investigation.

‘We focus on pseudo-profound bulls**t, which consists of seemingly impressive assertions that are presented as true and meaningful but are actually vacuous.’

‘Our results support the idea that some people are more receptive to this type of bullst,’ he continued, concluding: ‘Those more receptive to bullst are less reflective, lower in cognitive ability – numeracy, verbal and fluid intelligence), are more prone to ontological confusions and conspiratorial ideation, are more likely to hold religious and paranormal beliefs, and are more likely to endorse complementary and alternative medicine.’

I'm looking forward to the pictures. I enjoy motivational pictures/quotes! Keep on steeming!
