3 Jobs From Home Recommended for Beginners.
So you want to work from home but don't know where to start?
You see, there's a lot of sites there where you can find work from home opportunities and they are really a lot that most beginners get overwhelmed.
The real question you should ask yourself first is what are the jobs I can do to start.
Hopefully this post of mine would help you start your dream of working from home especially if you're tired of all the commuting and traffic.
I'm a transcriber working from home for more than 3 years and I combine it with Steemit. It's perfect because I can do both at the same time, efficient :-)
I don't recommend these types of jobs to people who doesn't enjoy being at home because you'll surely miss the busy life outside, sometimes I miss it too.
My wife also works from home as a virtual assistant for almost 2 years and we're pretty much always together every time. The only difference is that my shift is US time so I work at night here in the Philippines and hers is Australian so she works during the day.
So enough chitchat, let's go with my list.
Number 1.
Virtual assistant
One of the most common work but definitely still the best and good pay. It's like you're an online secretary of someone. This is my wife's job. She does chat support, making business proposals and some simple graphic designs so she is like a jack of all trades.
Sometimes, writing is involve as well as customer support like phone calls or handling their websites, it depends on your client.
Number 2.
Writer/Blogger
Another job that's very common but if done right, could get very lucrative. I've been a writer for a month and I wrote reviews about GPS. I just got burned out because I was writing about something I didn't love about.
This is the type of job that some clients will usually pay you less than what you're worth. It's okay if you're starting out but if you've already written a number of articles or blog, you can always look for a better client or ask for better rates.
Number 3.
Transcription
For those of you who doesn't know what transcription is, transcription is simply typing the words that you listen to.
Say you're listening to your favorite music and then you decide to write the lyrics of what you're listening to, that's transcription. There may be other definitions but this is the easiest example I can think of.
As a gamer, transcription became easy for me because I didn't have to practice typing to increase my typing speed, it comes natural with gamers as I've been playing PC games since I was a kid.
Thanks for reading my post, if you find value in it, feel free to share.
Don't forget to follow me.
I have been freelancing as a transcriptionist for five years now! :D Nice meeting you.
Wow, great job for you my friend. Followed you, it's fantastic that I met a follow transcriber. Nice meeting you too.

Thank you Sir, will check out.
Hi @rye05 great post but I wasn't really sure that work from home is for me.
Hi @grazz, thanks, well in my opinion, it depends on your lifestyle. If you don't have a family yet or like to socialize with other people, then definitely go for traditional jobs. But if you have a family that you want to give more time or you prefer being at home, then go for home base.
I agree on that @rye05 More likely, most parent prefer to have stay at have job so they can take care of their kids that's the advantage of the millennial age. Looking forward for your next post :)
@grazz, that's right, thank you and if you have any questions about home base work, don't hesitate to ask, I'd be glad to help as much as I can.
Actually considering to have home-based work I will save tons of money. No more transpo expense, food is cheaper and so on. Can you recommend site were to apply ?
Yes, it will help you save a lot.
There's a ton of sites really and it also depends on your location. There are some sites available only within US people while some are worldwide.
Here's what I recommend,
number 1.
upwork.com
definitely number 1 for online job for me. Jobs here are freelance meaning it's project base. So once you're done with the work, you can apply for other jobs from other clients but most of the time, if your client likes your job, they will hire you again.
number 2.
onlinejobs.ph.
For Filipinos only. This one is also recommended and most of the clients here offer full time or part time job, not project base.
number 3.
Fiverr.
This is a different type of site. This is like a buy and sell of online jobs. For example, let's say you're a writer. You can post a job here that said for $5, I will write a 500 word article for you then if a buyer likes your post, he can buy your service. You can also buy service from other people as well.
These sites offer different types of work so you have the option to choose and it also depends on your skill set.
Hope it helps.
Yes I familiar with the 1 and 2 that you mentioned but haven't heard the third one. Which one are you using?
I'm not using anything as of the moment. I was lucky because my first client is still my client today. I've been working with him for more than 3 years. I just searched on Google before and the job was posted on OLX.
Check out @steemgigs and #steemgigs. How many SBDs will you charge to transcribe a 15 minute video?
Thank you for the opportunity Sir, I haven't tried transcribing a video Sir but I can try if you would send me the file or the video. For you Sir, I'll do it for free and I can do it during the weekends.

Re: Blogging/Writing - If you don't love what you're doing, you're not going to enjoy doing it, and when you're working from home, you've got to have the dedication and drive to do it. If you love doing it, it's a whole lot easier to get and keep that motivation going.
Re: Transcription - Nice simple definition. I've done some in the past, transcribing audio lecture notes into typed documents so that hearing impaired students had access to the lectures as well. It's often not as simple as just listening and typing what you hear, but that's the basics of it. The lecture notes required a lot of back and forth to make sure I got exactly what was heard, and so that I included links to whatever external resource was being referred to in the talk (such as the lecturer's slides) and knowing which slide it should be.
But it can be simple such as doing captions for TV shows, though that's often time critical. And another mate does transcriptions for Hansard and the law courts, so there is a lot of varied work available in this particular field
Thank you for the added value ratticus, yes you're definitely correct, doing something you don't love usually gets you burned out and about transcription, yes, there's more to it than typing and listening, lots of editing and going back and forth, not to mention the different formats depending on your audio files.
