This is a fair description of Jackie Chan, as an action actor, I admire his dedication and effort on all his films. I used to enjoy watching his film a lot, but that's at least 15 years ago.
Because of all the incidents stated in the posts and also his move from an actor to a film producer / investor, I don't have my feel towards his new films and his own personal matter anymore.
True, his new film are not as good as the older films.
I won't call him a kung fu guy, to me he is more of a clown than a kung fu martial art artist. Bruce Lee is a martial art artist, Donnie Yan is a martial artist, but Jackie Chan is a stunt clown, i mean he can fight and have comedies but what he does most is jump buildings and got his funny face during kicks and occasionally strip himself naked. The one that i would compare him to is the Rock, both looks similar in terms of the comedy and "fights". Calling them both martial art artist is humiliating to real martial art artist!! But i would sincerely thank him for bring Hong Kong Movie industry to the world but his personal life is a dick
Agree with those that look-so-nice fight movement in movies are different from real martial art. Kung Fu in movie meant to be big and impressive but it may not be practical in real fight. So we call Jackie a movie star. Never heard people called him a martial art artist.
while i agree he had his prime in one of those days, he has been acting like a jerk and he should focus on his sayings because many people are looking up to him as role model.

Yes i agree, i dont know why he did that but he seems keep saying the wrong in the worst possible time. And also his personal life is not so good that i am not sure he still seems to get a lot of respected by different people, i guess life is just weird.

Sure he's one of my favorite super star. He is a genius for what he does. However, his individual life is his own can't comment on that nevertheless we all want our idols to be perfect but seldom it comes by. Forget just enjoy what he does for us. Upvoted. 👍
Thank you for your vote. :) I wrote this because my Japanese friends were super upset when I said we Hong Kong people hate Jackie Chan. Just want to explain the reasons here, to make people mentally prepared when hear Chinese people hate Jackie Chan.
He is a great actor, one of my favourites. Also he is very popular in Russia.
