Vivo Oncreen fingerprint

gsmarena_005.jpg
One of the coolest thing in the smartphone category at the CES was the Vivo's onscreen fingerprint.

The new version of the finger-scanning tech is optical-based and was developed with Synaptics. In a nutshell, how the technology works is the phone's OLED display panel emits light to illuminate your fingerprint. Your lit-up fingerprint is then reflected into an in-display fingerprint sensor and authenticated.
the is really a cool stuff and will be used in a long run and this approach will now prevent the OEM's from fitting the fingerprint on the back and front of the display and will help a lot in designing a bezel less phone, Without having to worry about integrating the fingerprint at the front.
the video pretty much explains everything .

In order for this to happen, the current design will only be compatible with OLED displays, as they are transparent enough to let the sensor detect a finger above the glass. This would mean that this implementation would not work LCD displays, making this the only major limitation.

Razer Project Linda

The project Linda concept incorporates the Razer phone into a laptop giving users an experience of a fully functional android from a small screen Razer phone to a tablet size laptop.

The idea is simple: it's a dock for the recently released Razer phone that turns the phone into a fully functional laptop running a desktop-style Android interface. The phone is inserted where a trackpad would normally be, and it becomes the trackpad, even though it doesn't offer any physical feedback with its capacitive touch clicks.

Android apps default to tablet view and can be shown either full screen or in a window. Some games support mouse clicking and physical keyboard input, like Vainglory, which offers a League of Legends, Dota 2, or Heroes of the Storm-type control scheme.

The dock's chassis is essentially a slightly taller Razer Blade Stealth. However, it lacks any kind of air vents (why would it need them?), and it has only three ports—one USB-C for power only, one full-sized USB for peripherals, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The display is 1080p, but a Razer rep told us the company is exploring an option that would bring it more in line with the phone's own higher resolution.

It contains a battery that helps charge the phone. Razer says all the power needed for the dock and its screen come from the internal battery, not from the phone.

Hooking up the Razer Phone to Project Linda is simple: place the phone into the slot, and press a hardware button at the top right corner of the keyboard that causes a USB-C port to extend directly into the Razer Phone, You press the button again to disconnect and take it out. It's slick.

From a hardware perspective, Project Linda is more or less a modified Razer Blade Stealth (albeit one that is 0.05-inches thicker, so the Razer Phone lies flush). There are a couple other changes to accommodate the peculiarities of how the Razer Phone works. There’s no power button, since the side-mounted power button / fingerprint sensor on the Razer Phone serves in that role instead. Similarly, there are no speakers on the Project Linda hardware, since Razer is using the Razer Phone’s stereo speakers. And a few keyboard buttons have been swapped out for Android home, back, and multitasking buttons, along with dedicated app launcher and Google Assistant buttons.

We expected a gimmick, but we were surprised at how well-implemented it is. It's just too bad not a lot of people own Razer phones.

The Wall Samsung's 146 inch MicroLed Tv

Samsung has debuted a 146-inch TV at CES that the company calls The Wall, which also sports modular MicroLED technology. That means the size of the TV can actually change to fit your room better by removing or adding pieces. Samsung says the adaptability is possible through MicroLED, which are smaller than LEDs and self-sufficient as a light source.

"As the world’s first consumer modular MicroLED television, The Wall represents another breakthrough," said Jonghee Han, Samsung Electronics president of visual display business, in a statement. "It can transform into any size, and delivers incredible brightness, color gamut, color volume and black levels.

The Wall offers superlative picture quality and can be extended to just about any size or shape. But to complete the viewing experience, it also needs high-resolution content. That’s why Samsung’s 85-inch 2018 QLED TV is equipped with AI technology which transforms all pictures into 8K high-quality content by adjusting the algorithm in the display based on a user’s prior experiences.
