They steal data from 800,000 telephone users in Switzerland

A telephone operator in Switzerland reported Wednesday that its data systems were infiltrated last year and that the contact details of some 800,000 customers were threatened.
Swisscom said that through an unknown partner of the company they had access to names, addresses, telephone numbers and customer birth dates.
He added that the passwords, conversations and payment data were not affected and that so far he has not received any reports from affected users.
Swisscom said it discovered the incident during a routine review of its activities and conducted a thorough investigation. The 800,000 clients represent almost 10% of the country's population.
