OPTIMIZATION OF LEAD ION ADSORPTION USING SUGARCANE BAGASSE AS AN ADSORBENT

in #centrallast year

In this study, the potential of sugarcane bagasse as an adsorbent for removing Lead (Pb) from aqueous solutions was investigated. Through the application of response surface methodology (RSM), the optimal conditions for contact time, adsorbent dosage, and Pb ion concentration were determined to be 4.5hrs, 8g, and 100ppm, respectively. At these conditions, the percentage removal of Pb was found to be 99.2%. These results demonstrate the efficacy of bagasse-based adsorbents in removing Pb from contaminated water. However, further studies should be conducted with actual contaminated water from various sources to validate these findings.
