YouTube actively censoring creators for promoting their presence on other platforms
Remember this post I made a few days ago detailing how YouTube and their parent company are attacking free speech? Well, they're doubling down on the censorship, now not only erasing content they deem offensive and erasing history. No, that is not authoritarian and retarded enough apparently. Now Reenactor Guy has had his latest video put in limbo as well. In it he lets his fans know that he has also created a Minds account, where free speech actually has value.
Here's how the video on Youtube looks like now:
Clicking on the highlighted video brings you to the message below.
And finally, once confirming you get on YouTube's naughty list, you can see the video with every feature disabled. No like bar, no comments, no recommended videos, it won't show up in search etc. I will link the video again here.
Apparently, once you are deemed inappropriate for YouTube, you are not allowed to tell people that you exist anywhere else. Because nothing says free market better than silencing creators talking about other platforms. He has opened a Minds account, if you wish to see him here is his profile.
Google and any company supporting censorship should be fought. Nobody should be silenced for differing opinions! So with this I say "Fuck Youtube! Fuck Google!". Time to support blockchain technology! I have also opened a Minds account, it is still under construction, but you can follow me HERE.
What ere your thoughts? Share them, along with your feedback below, it is greatly appreciated!
Thank you for reading, and keep on steemin'!

see ... i think this is a large part of what's going on with @mericanhomestead he was promoting steemit and a few other products but I think it was the steemit part that got him taken down. Just between you, me, and the fence post ... ok and the internet ...
I dunno @mericanhomestead's situation, but I've witnessed this poor sob's censoring. And it's ridiculous. Censorship is not ok, no matter if it's not the government doing it. Social media should be a utility as it's public space. No matter what heinous views people hold, or no matter what product they promote, they should be allowed to speak their mind. The only limitations to free speech I can agree with are
As long as that is going on, and I know about it, I will fight against it and I'll gladly promote alternative platforms that uphold free speech. :)
I know a YT channel owner who publishes cooking and gardening videos. Her most recent video wouldn't be posted live until she did some magic tricks and backward flips. This censorship is becoming more ridiculous by the minute.
I mean, c'mon... a cooking and recipe video? Yes she has tons of subscribers, etc.. but this is a sad state of the
As long as it's not what Google wants to hear, apparently it's not ok. Everybody's a nazi or some shit like that.
No opinion should be censored in my opinion. Some people don't mind when political views that oppose theirs are censored, but that is just as wrong. It's even dumber when a guy that just puts up historical explanations and reenactments, or damn recipe demonstrations are censored.
I'm done trying to find a middle ground, Google must lose it's monopoly over the internet, at the very least. That's why I'm glad stuff like Minds, DTube, Gab, etc are popping up. Sure, they're not as user friendly yet, but they'll get there with time. I'm willing to put up with slight inconvenience for free speech.
I've only just started being a subscriber on many YT channels but since steemit, this is where i hang my bonnet now. DTube should give YT a healtht run for the money, at least I hope.
I've tried to encourage some faithful YTers experiencing YT rule changes and revenue disputes to try steemit.
DTube still has a long way to go, but hopefully it'll get there. There are also other platforms attempting to fight this crap. I still use YT for the time being, as most of my favourite creators are still on there, but with time, either YT will have to change its ways or the crown will go to someone else. Hopefully, the latter, I will never stand by this company ever again. I doubt they can wash this away. Steemit, and other decentralised platforms is where it's at. ;)
Yes I agree about DTube needing some fine tuning and such. I have yet to make a video on either one, as I am more of a reader than a video/audio person. But I do have certain channels I really like to watch.
But once YT starts hammering down on those people, I will have to stop watching. It's just all around pathetic.
You know that poem
Well, these days Google is doing the same
I don't wanna be in the last man standing, so ... Fuck Google nice and early!
But yeah, I still watch people on YT, until they're banned for wrong think, but I can't wait for the day someone else picks up the mantle, at this point it can be anyone but Google, Facebook or Twitter.
LOL
Eeeh, not that funny mate. Google is a monopoly, they are much stronger than governments when it comes to shaping opinion at least.
wow, that's some serious shit
Indeed. It is why I am trying to bring this to people's knowledge. Freedom of speech should not only be fought for against tyrannical governments, but also corporations. They wield more power these days, anyway!
