RE: [call of revolt] the EU's so called piracy filters ...

in #censorship7 years ago (edited)

This one isn't actually born from the lobby :

and its (as usual) nothing new too, years in the making in the political lobby this time ::

https://edri.org/leaked-document-eu-presidency-calls-for-massive-internet-filtering/

edri is another trustworthy watchdog, like quadrature

this has actually one sole purpose : it's to give government total control of what can be shown to citizens, the EU government that is, you probably heard me use the word "enlightened content nazis" a few times before lol well, the western democracy here is more like enlightened despotism because i'm fairly sure when the lords of mordor stand there in the morning, looking in the mirror as their prizewife fixes their tie that costs more than i get in a year, they actually REALLY think they're helping, they sit in their own little circle ....

i could compare it to the protectorate in the clouds from altered carbon but i really do think they have no clue at all of what happens below the clouds here as opposed to the ones in the series lol, who simply don't care. It's like speeches at U.N. meetings where they're gonna save the world by writing up rules to make water run uphill and stuff ... costly :)

ah, you should never take the critic score on rottentomatoes, i found the audience score to be quite the reliable gauge for quality haha

So if this passes then Orwell will turn in his grave and we are at last in 1984 (living in belgium that's still a step ahead from 1830 for once but not quite something i will be able to enjoy)

and most people are like "o well watchu gonna do" while it IS actually as easy as making sure they understand no one votes for parties who support censorship

but well , and even if i'm told not to use that word i cant help it because they simply behave like it ::"plebs will be plebs"

and us pays the price for being ab-normals

critics versus connoisseurs lol, a bit like how ethereum will be the next interwebz simply because of who came up with it is made of money while there's a few alternatives that are WAY more advanced and actually offer privacy options too ...

right ... EOF :p

oh no, not i was wondering if you knew some decent online tools to test the safety of a linux machine here, its like i need to feel safe before i script stuff that uses actual account keys

Sort:

testing testing, linux is the best you can get, hackers can find various ways to see those keys the only way it really works is encrypting the actual code, but you can't do that with php only asp has that option so not even admins can read your code or java script even if they try but those days are over also. running your own in house server is the only 100% secure way that ensures nobody but you sees your servers files, but then you have to deal with bandwidth speed, volume and machine performance and security setup.

Well, i wouldnt want as much as a public server, but one that has the blockchain on it so i can post or "broadcast" (whatever the word) transactions to it within the LAN, while all it actually does is stay synchronized with the other nodes so it only syncs the transactions that are "in it" , its so far my last resort idea to doing this linux only before i have to cave in to the lowly levels like python and javasript hahah

but i'm not really sure if its possible to just post transactions to one node, i still don't know enough, so until i do i probably won't or i just use python or node.js (whatever that name was) as an interim solution because its a total waste of time sitting around waiting for VP to turn to 100% while i already know which posts or replies i will be voting on and certainly doing a batch payment by hand over 20-30 people, but when it comes to that i'm too paranoid to use third-party too since none i come across so far uses steemconnect (which is the only thing that got assured to me as being safe by the @blocktrades himself, which is, i hope , a reliable source ... looking at the 700sbd vote worth id think he is lol)
one step at a time, the fun thing about programs and snippets : once you have them, you can't like un-have them (well you could lose a backup ofcourse but you know what i mean, so over time it goes linear to slightly curved and maybe exponential as it grows into your own little library, right) the voting tools i found so far all focus on one thing : vote auto on the last root_post (which might be anything you know) per author, and thats definitely not useful for me, most seem to give a time interval (probably to measure your VP) but that seems a bit of a sloppy way of doing it so there too

i already have a script that tells me when its time to cast a 100/100 vote so i could use that, once i'm confident of putting out the key with it

unless your home computer has an SSL certificate installed and your home-server address starts with https:// then and only then i might trust my keys otherwise anybody on the ip path can see them and you really need to be cautious.

It's not like i would run a public server from my bedroom here. If i had the resources for that i know the perfect hosting service here. Very un-belgian business, 24/7 free support, answers within a few hours tops , they have clients like Fortis and VTM (for this country quite the companies) and all their tekkies REALLY know what they're doing.
Something you won't hear me do a lot lol, praise local business
But to run it from home if i can set it up so my keys don't go outside the LAN that would be nice for one and i suppose i could put in a few folders for private access with logins i can give to just a few people to pages that only do analytics on posts or accounts (like the get_nonstale script i just tinkered here so i can automatically get the list of accounts that have root_posts in the past seven days, taken from the list of accounts that voted on one particular post (my sbd giveaway) which leave me with random number 1-6 instead of 1-30 lol, its amazing how many accounts are resteemers or inactive really

i could do that, so some people could use it IF i give them a password to access the folder, and there's no keys required, you cut input a list of account names to parse for whatever i got the scripts for parsing for, or just a post to do the analytics on that. There's plenty out there but i like it tweaked my way ofcourse, so whatever i have will be made to serve whatever i need but i suppose putting it accessible through web-UI once its something a little decent is almost unavoidable there
