Shaman Knowledge - The Celtic Era
English is not my native language, so forgive mistakes and improve me if necessary, thank you.
Introduction
I like to call myself a Celtic music shaman. In this post, I would like to shed some light on the origins of Celtic culture and take you on a journey into the past, perhaps resulting in usable insights beyond the material world view. All data should be treated with caution, as we do not know accurate information from people who have not left any written records.
Origin
The people of the Celts did not exist as one unit, rather a mixture of different tribes and communities that shared certain ideas and characteristics. From 4000 to 5000 BC there were the great Indo-European migrations from the region of the great steppes beyond the Urals. Considering the large sun run of 28,827 years we notice that it was the time in which the sun wandered through the sign of the bull. And we find the bull in the cultures of the Egyptians, the Apis cult, as well as in Crete in the Cretan-Minoan bull cult.
Bull Cult
The Tauriski, (Taurus, Latin = bull) or the Tauern (mountains) bear the name of the bull still in itself. It can not be seen as the peculiarity of cattle breeding peoples, as the origin and spread in Egypt is well documented, but the camel was the much more important animal.
Taurus (2000-4000 BC) - Aries (2000-0 BC) - Fishes (0-2000) - Aquarius (2000-4000)
In the famous anecdote of Alexander the Great, we learn that the only real fear of the Celts is that the skies might fall on their heads. And that was due to their faith in the bull-headed God, who carried the heavenly vault on his shoulders. The impending turn of time into the time of Aries with the weakening of the ancient Bull god towards the god of Aries may have fueled this idea, because the weakened God could possibly no longer bear the heavenly roof.
Arrival of Aries Cult
In Spain the arrival of Aries culture in the emergence of bullfighting is shown. The tensions between the old bull-believers and the newcomers, who were attached to the new Aries god, led to the sacred slaughter of the bull and therefore to the weakening of the old culture.
In the Atlantis report of Plato from the year 427 BC. a bull hunting and killing is described.
The bull games in Crete were bloodless and very popular until the year 1900 BC, but with the beginning of the Aries age this changed to bull combat games. The Aries men got the upper hand and the bull had to give way and be killed.
In the next part we will follow the Aries cult traditions and will examine the still existing customs.

Great post! How do you practice shamanism?
Celtic shamanhood. Some posts about it you may find on my blog and it will continue.
Healing with music is my main part.
Awesome. I will check those out. I practice my own form of shamanism, which I think of as interactivity with Nature, and my Celtic roots are a big influence as well. I'm especially interested to see what you do with music. Thank you for your reply.
