GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM BILBAO

Inspired by the shapes and textures of a fish, it can be considered a sculpture, a work of art in itself. The museum is fundamentally a shell that evokes the industrial past and the port life of Bilbao.

The La Salve bridge passes over the building.

The building is articulated around a central axis, the hall 50 meters high, a monumental empty space.

Some of the sculptures on the outside are a symbol of the museum itself, such as: the spectacular 12 m tall terrier dog covered with flowers, "Puppy", which is located at the entrance of the museum, and chromed stainless steel tulips with translucent lacquer, 5'20x4'60x2'00m, both by Jeff Koons; the giant spider, "Mama", by Louise Bourgeois; or the sculptures of the interior, "La materia del tiempo", in corten steel by Richard Serra.

Constructed in titanium, limestone and glass. We used 33000 pieces of titanium of half a millimeter of thickness. As these pieces are so thin, they adapt perfectly to the necessary curves.
