Daily celestial challenge:Louvre Abu Dhabi

Hello guys,here is my blog for #celestialchallenge initiated by @sir knight.Today i will be discussing about the one billion pound art museum structure, Louvre Abu Dhabi. A part of a thirty years agreement between the city of Abu Dhabi and the French government.

Louvre Abu Dhabi is an art and civilization museum built on a 97000 square meter site on saadiyat island,off the coast of Abu Dhabi,United Arab Emirate.The museum was established on November 8th 2017,although construction works started on 26th May 2009.The museum was designed by the popular Jean Nouvel,who also designed the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris.

The museum is designed as a seemingly floating dome structure as its four pillars are hidden within it, its web-patterned dome allowing the sun to filter through.The overall effect is meant to represent rays of sunlight passing through date palm fronds in an oasis.The dome is a latticework silvery dome that is 36 metres high,and weighs 7500 tonnes,almost as mush as the Eiffel Tower.The dome is made up of eight superimposed layers:four outer layers in stainless steel and four inner layers seperated by a steel structure that is 5 metres high.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi is part of a vast museum city that includes 55 white buildings inspired by the traditional Arab medians. The museum will host 23 permanent galleries and showcase 600 art works including 300 loaned by 13 french museums.
