Today we talked to @therealwolf, one of the best 50 witnesses on steemit.
@therealwolf is one of the creators of @SMARTSTEEM Bot Project.
THE INTERVIEW TO @therealwolf
hi @therealwolf, i'm creating a series of interview to witnesses. What i want to do is to give to other users what's the sense to be a witness, with witnesses help.

@therealwolf ----> that sounds great - yes for sure!
QUESTION N. 1
Can you explain us in the easiest way what is to be a witness?
@therealwolf ----> A Witness is someone who is partly responsible for the stability of the Steem-Blockchain by producing and signing blocks on time.
The reason for this is, that Steem works via DPOS (Delegated Proof of Stake) which is an alternative to for example Proof of Work. DPOS gives Witnesses the task to produce Blocks - instead of Miners, which is the case with POW (e.g. Bitcoin).
Additionally, a Witness should also actively improve the Steem-Ecosystem.
Not everyone is a Developer and can develop tools for Steem, but there are other great Witnesses - for example @Patrice who is helping Steem grow into the right direction by combating SPAM via @steemcleaners.

how are you going to support steemit as a witness?
@therealwolf ----> There is a big difference between Steem and Steemit. Steem is the Blockchain - while Steemit is simply one approach to use the Steem-Blockchain as a SocialMedia-Site / Blog-Plattform. Another interface is for example utopian or dtube.
I personally will work on improving Steem as an Ecosystem for Apps & Businesses - and not really on making Steemit greater.
While Steemit is important, I think there are Witnesses who are better suited for this task.

You are one of the creator of @smartsteem Bot. Do you think it will help the steemit community?
@therealwolf ----> Calling smartsteem simply a bot is an understatement. Smartsteem is a plattform for different services. And there are currently two available:
a bid-bot which runs through the @smartsteem account
a vote-selling market which runs through the @smartmarket account
And yes - I am the creator and main- (and currently only) developer. So if anything breaks - it is my fault :P
Do you think it will help the steemit community?
Difficult question. I would say that they are helping Steem grow as a plattform as they give people a way to gamify the current System of Steem, which results in higher numbers of active Users. Plus, they can be used for all Interfaces (dtube, utopian, busy, dmania etc.) incl Steemit.

what do you think about your other Witness competitors?
@therealwolf ----> There are many Witnesses doing an excellent job - I especially appreciate those who are actively improving Steem with their development skills - e.g. @jesta, @gtg, @dragosroua, @someguy123, @furion, @yabapmatt - but the whole list of Witnesses I personally vote for can be found at steemd.com/@therealwolf

What are the suggestions you would give to someone approaching steemit for the first time?
@therealwolf ----> Give more than you take and always try to do better than average.

What are the things you would change on steemit?
@therealwolf ---->
- Increase Payout Period to reward high quality Posts & Videos
- Giving minnows a bigger voice - seperating rewards from vote-strength

How important do you think is the steemit Blockchain and how does it relate to the concept of the other Blockchains?
@therealwolf ----> Steem is super important as a blockchain as it has the highest amount of activity, users and usability.

Steem, SBD or Steem Power, which one is more important for you?
@therealwolf ----> Steempower - an amazing investment with active dividents, which is also safer than the liquid counterpart due to 13 weeks vesting period.

What are the most important projects did you create or what are the projects you are going to create on steemit?
@therealwolf ----> Smartsteem for sure and the next projects are still top secret :)

why should someone vote for you as a witness?
@therealwolf ---->
1.) I’ve been doing pretty much nothing else the last 5-6 months than working on and for Steem. I’m very dedicated towards Steem.
2.) I stand 100% behind Steem as a currency and usability blockchain and will do my best to improve Steem and help to increase its value.
3.) I always try to be as authentic as possible. Even if that means to stand with an opinion which is controverse. For example: Yes I think @ned did the right thing to call out @dan.

Ciao @therealwolf, sto creando una serie di interviste ai witness. Quello che voglio fare è fornire agli utenti qual'e' il senso di essere un witness, grazie al suporto dei witness stessi.

Puoi spiegarci in maniera molto semplice in modo che tutti capiscano cosa è per te essere un witness?
@therealwolf ----> Un Witness è qualcuno che è responsabile della stabilità della Steem-Blockchain producendo e firmando blocchi nel tempo.
La ragione di questo, è che Steem funziona tramite DPOS (Delegated Proof of Stake) che è un'alternativa al Proof of Work. DPOS dà ai Witnesses l'incarico di produrre Blocchi - a differenza dei Miners, come nel caso del POW (come succede con il Bitcoin).
Inoltre, un Witness dovrebbe anche migliorare attivamente l'ecosistema di Steem.
Non tutti sono programmatori e possono sviluppare per Steem, ma ci sono altri grandi witnesses - come per esempio @People che sta aiutando a fare un passo nella giusta direzione, combattendo lo SPAM tramite @steemcleaners.

Come hai intenzione di supportare steemit in qualità di witness?
@therealwolf ----> C'è una grande differenza tra Steem e Steemit. Steem è la Blockchain - mentre Steemit è semplicemente un metodo per usare lo Steem-Blockchain mediante un sito di social media/blog. Un'altra interfaccia è per esempio utopian o dtube.
Lavorerò personalmente per migliorare Steem come un ecosistema per applicazioni e attività commerciali e non per rendere Steemit più grande.
Nonostante ritengo sia importante, credo ci siano altri Witnesses più adatti a questo compito.

Sei uno dei creatori del bot @smartsteem. Pensi che questo aiuterà la comunità di steemit?
@therealwolf ----> Chiamare smartsteem semplicemente un bot è un eufemismo. Smartsteem è una piattaforma per diversi servizi. Attualmente quelli disponibili sono:
- un bid-bot che viene eseguito attraverso l'account @smartsteem
- un mercato di vendita al voto che viene usato mediante l'account @smartmarket
E sì, sono il creatore e il principale (e attualmente il solo) sviluppatore. Quindi se qualcosa si rompe - è colpa mia: P
Pensi che aiuterà la community di steemit?
Domanda difficile. Direi che stanno aiutando Steem a crescere come una piattaforma in quanto offrono alle persone un modo per far accrescere l'attuale sistema di Steem, che si traduce in un numero maggiore di utenti attivi. Inoltre, possono essere utilizzati per tutte le interfacce (dtube, utopian, busy, dmania ecc.) Incluso Steemit.

cosa ne pensi degli altri tuoi competitor Witness?
@therealwolf ----> Ci sono molti Witnesses che fanno un lavoro eccellente - apprezzo particolarmente coloro che stanno attivamente migliorando Steem con le loro capacità di sviluppo - ad es. @jesta, @gtg, @dragosroua, @someguy123, @furion, @yabapmatt - ma l'intera lista di Witnesses che voto personalmente può essere trovata su steemd.com/@therealwolf

quali sono i suggerimenti che daresti a qualcuno che si avvicina per la prima volta a steemit?
@therealwolf ----> Dai più di quello che prendi e cerca sempre di fare meglio della media.

quali sono invece le cose che cambieresti in steemit?
@therealwolf ---->
- Aumentare il periodo di pagamento per premiare post e video di alta qualità
- Dare ai minnows una voce più grande - separare i premi dalla forza di voto

Quanto pensi sia importante la Blockchain di steemit e come si rapporta rispetto al concetto delle altre Blockchain?
@therealwolf ----> Steem è molto importante come blockchain in quanto ha la più alta quantità di attività, utenti e usabilità.

Steem, SBD oppure STEEM POWER, quale di questi è più importante secondo te?
@therealwolf ----> Steempower: un incredibile investimento con dividendi attivi, che è anche più sicuro della controparte liquida a causa del periodo di vesting di 13 settimane.

Quali progetti importanti hai portato avanti oppure hai intenzione di portare avanti in steemit?
@therealwolf ----> Sicuramete Smartsteem e i prossimi progetti sono ancora top secret :)

perchè qualcuno dovrebbe votarti come witness?
@therealwolf ---->
1.) Negli ultimi 5-6 mesi non ho fatto praticamente nient'altro che lavorare su e per Steem. Sono molto dedicato a Steem.
2.) Sono al 100% dietro Steem come una blockchain di valuta e usabilità e farò del mio meglio per migliorare Steem e contribuire ad aumentarne il valore.
3.) Cerco sempre di essere il più autentico possibile. Anche se questo significa stare con un'opinione controversa. Ad esempio: Sì, penso che @ned abbia fatto la cosa giusta nel richiamare @Dan.
