Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter was born on 4th September, 1981 in Houston, Texas. She is 38 today. Happy Birthday Beyoncé!

Here are some fun facts about Beyoncé:

-There is a Fly named after her.

The “all-time diva of flies”, due to its unique golden abdomen hairs was named “Scaptia beyonceae" by research scientist Bryan Lessard in 2012.

-Her favorite “cheat food” is Pizza!

She prefers it with extra tomato sauce and jalapeño peppers, she told Shape during an interview. She has it once a week.

-The word ‘bootylicious’ is now part of the Oxford English Dictionary due to Beyoncé's same-named song.

-"Crazy in Love" took two hours to write.

Record producer Rich Harrison was having real trouble making his music colleagues understand that 'Crazy In Love' was going to be a hit, since none of them liked the beat. This was back in 2002. So Harrison decided to keep it under wraps until the right artist came along. A short time later, Beyoncé heard the track and although she didn't really liked it, she agreed to play along and told Harrison he had two hours to finish it, including the lyrics. And so he did. All the time he spent finishing the song he was suffering from an hungover!

-Beyoncé’s bodyguard once broke her toe by standing on it accidentally whilst trying to protect her from a crowd of fans.

-To help her get over her stage-shyness, Beyoncé invented an alter-ego called Sasha Fierce.

During a concert, Sasha Fierce threw a pair of $250,000 Lorraine Schwartz earring into the crown. Her cousin was later able to retrieve them from the fan.
