 What is ceal?

Ceal is a decentralized blockchain and libtorrent-based network designed for information sharing, especially for freedom of expression and freedom of opinion.

Nowadays cencorship is the major threat related to the freedom of speech/opinion. As a result of technological and political circumstances it is possible to quieten people and to prevent them from sharing their thoughts/ideas especially questioning/critical statements.

In order to stop those problems, ceal offers a decentralized, merkle-tree and torrent based network-structure which can not be censored. It enables a registration for users through a blockchain-interface and guarantees them a safe identification/authentification method (based on ECDSA). In addition all communication inside the ceal-network is end-to-end encrpyted which means nobody can spy on you.

From a technical perspective ceal represents an overlay-network which is separated into four layers, where each layer is mostly independent from each other:

a) Blockchain layer for decentralized user registration and authentication (based on bitcoin) for securing the network-alias ownership. 

b)P2P datastructure in the sense of distributed hash table network for resource storage (key and values) and its retrieval by peers/tracker locations as well as direct messages between users.

c)The 3rd layer is a collection of torrent swarms (the users active on a torrent) which are not necessarily on the same node (disjunct organisation). This redundant layer is based on the bittorrent protocol and provides efficient data delivery to users and a faster peer-track as well as propagation of the posts/messages (public and PMs).

d)The last network is an additional blockchain network for transferring value between network-users. This can be addressed by their public key(s) which, apart from the value-transferral, also allow honoring special contributions/authors. We want the user to build a base for a meritocratic system with ceal. By using the same 0x01 byte like declared in the user/auth-blockchain to the private-key before base58 encoding, users can use the same privkey for securing authentication and spending/transferring value inside the two different networks.

To provide value-transferral-ability independently from other currencies the cealnet has its very own internal monetary-system. The tokens used in this blockchain are called "CEAL". CEAL is created for rewarding authors, revolutionaries and those who deserve but also useable to pay network user for special services. This shall build the base for a meritocratic and anarchistic community-model. Technically CEAL is a Proof of Stake cryptocurrency, rewarding the network maintainer with two percent per year.

The created CEAL will be partitioned in relation to the crowdfund-amount amongst the backers of CEAL. This transferral takes place 48 hours after the crowdfund is complete. The campaign is held to enable development, maintenance and promotion on a professional scale. 133 Mio CEAL will be generated for the ceal-network.
