Architectural Photography Challenge - Week 80 | "📷Capture, Click, Compete!📷" - Wooden architecture
Hi everybody!
Today I will show you photos of a house that is a monument of wooden architecture of the 19th century. This house was built in 1815 in the Moscow region town of Kolomna. In the 19th century, the house had two owners. At first, it belonged to the noble family of the Ananyins, and then passed into the possession of the merchant family of the Lvovs. During the Soviet era, the estate was nationalized and converted into a densely populated residential building. Over the years, the house has become very dilapidated and in 2011, when the house received the status of a cultural heritage site, funds were allocated for its restoration.
The house can rightfully be called one of the most interesting monuments of wooden architecture in Kolomna. The intricate patterned wood carving that abundantly decorates the facade of the building gives the house a unique appearance.
Now the house houses an art museum, which contains works by Russian avant-garde artists of the early 20th century and contemporary artists.
