A bit of a joke... Adobe Firefly Contributor Bonus
A couple of days ago I got an email by Adobe Stock, saying this.
Dear Contributor,
As mentioned in our Adobe Stock 10-year anniversary message, we are continuously looking for additional income streams for our Contributors.
Today, we are issuing our third Firefly Contributor bonus payment to recognize your continued support with helping train Adobe Firefly generative AI models.
The 2025 bonus is based on photos, videos, vectors, illustrations, and Generative AI content considered for training between June 3, 2024, and June 2, 2025, and the number of licenses that those assets generated in the same 12-month period.
A banner on the Insights > My Statistics tab in the Contributor portal provides the specific amount that was added to your account.
Please see our FAQ for more information.
We appreciate your contributions and look forward to what you submit next!
Thanks,
Adobe Stock Contributor Relations
Firstly, let me share a beautiful long exposure photograph of a open performance of poi in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Once I got the email, I went to check out how much I got paid for training AI for ONE YEAR with the thousands of the photograph I share there.
Well, that doesn't sound much, nor fair.
I've seen some online discussions about how much that AI is used and its output is given to paid subscriptions only.
So I bet this is much worse than what I would be selling if there was no Firefly...
On top of that, I got this when I requested that small payment:
It is not better with the other two agencies I upload to. Less and less sales.
So, my simple friendly advice and conclusion, just in case if anyone is considering stepping into the side-side-side-hustle called "Stock Photography", is, DO NOT! ;)
Now, I need to balance the crap with more magical long-exposure poi performance pictures... Let's enjoy!

When humanity starts serving the machine, that's the beginning of the end. There was a pretty interesting interview with an AI specialist on TV recently. I think everyone who has a more specialized and professional exposure to this thing is pretty scared. And the rest of us are just serving.
There was a very spot-on meme with a brief summary of the history of humanity, on the topic: why do we think that everything we've been through is the worst and everything that's coming is only good. No, nothing good is coming. And this was visualized with a human pole dancing to entertain robots. I think that's exactly what awaits us. And that even those who are currently profiting from artificial intelligence, i.e. all these agencies that are robbing people of their labor and creativity, will also suffer later.
Aren't we already there?
Many people already work full-time jobs to serve them...
