I've been sitting no this project for a while because I see great potential in it.

Carboncoin — A very brief introduction

Carboncoin is an energy efficient secure version of bitcoin which has been running for over two years. In short it is a payment system (for transferring money over the internet) which funds things which are good for nature.

Carboncoin became what it is for two reasons. The first reason relates to the knowledge of what bitcoin had achieved (~zero to billions of dollars), understanding of how it had done this, and the determination to recreate the success but this time direct it specifically to do as much good as possible. Initially to directing money to things which are good for the environment which may not necessarily have an economic justification otherwise.
