I'm always suspicious of the "homemade" claims when a dish is sold by a large chain. I often find myself being the nosy customer, looking around at how the staff works. If I can peek into the kitchen, I watch for clues. Most of the time, sadly, it confirms what you said: it's frozen food. We're essentially just paying to sit in a nice-looking restaurant to eat re-heated frozen food

Paying top dollar for frozen food that’s just been re-heated is a total rip-off. It’s even worse when a high-end restaurant does it—at those prices, you expect fresh preparation.

This was not a chain but a single restaurant without an open kitchrn like mostvrestaurants with us. Seems as if no one can cook these days.
I rather have a good dish while sitting on a stairway or rock outside. The rest takes the appetite away, if it's there at all.

There is a noticeable trend here where food stalls become the first resort for the financially desperate which results in a lot of mediocre, poorly made food
That poorly made food we also deal with. Especially, during c-19 the food, attitude changed a lot.
Surprisingly I reconnected with Facebook during the pandemic for updates. I found a lot of nice home cooked food there.
