RE: Earth Cat Rescue Calendar - Day 25, Month 1, Year 2018 - Ziggy's Baby Pic, Right After His Rescue....

in #cats7 years ago

It is so sad he's deaf. For months I thought my kitten a little blind, but I found out she just needs a little time to adjust between long sight and short focus. She travels so fast sometimes she misses her landing place and although it raises a laugh, it isn't really funny, but she slows down when I laugh and pick her up after a fall. 😉

Ohhh....that is so cute! Thank you for taking care of her!

Just to let you know, and in no way detract from saving souls abandoned, but, in the bush the ferals breed like rabbits, and decimate bird life and bilbies and the ground wildlife. You would like our native Bilby, a marsupial ground critter, and however much you might like cats, you must realise they are an introduced species here that has changed the balance of nature. Their only predator is dingo, goanna, snake and man. Well, like everything else, I expect spiders get some, but that's a whole different story, as spiders don't travel much however. And possibly bull shark and crocodile, but again bull shark and crocs have their own underwater territory and they will eat anything silly enough to invade. We have a major feral problem, there also being something like 40,000 camels, and wild horses, donkeys, cattle, and sometimes packs of dogs, but the dogs and pigs at least draw the hunters, while the fox, cats and rabbits usually only have farmers who try to reduce their numbers.
So, yes, I saved 100K from a truck park, but two miles further bush, she and all her family would as easily have been shotgunned. There is no answer, as it would require educating humans to not release unwanted pets, and that, has never worked. Half the humans are worried about environmental issues and the other half worry not, but complain about their comfort when not realising it is their practice of attitude that creates the discomfort. Ah well, the bush itself helps. When the water and food runs out, the eagle-hawk and crows get fed. Not forgetting the ants and termites can clean up a body in about five days. 😕 😄 😉

I understand about that....I fix my cats so they can not make unwanted babies and over populate, speaking of that, have you ever seen cat island in Japan? That is really over doing it!

I know very little of Japan's islands, having heard most of Okinawa, and stories from their mainland - Honshu ¿
I'll google it, thanks.
