Cats are the most popular form of pets, and the main reason for them being the first choice pet is their cutness and small size as compare to dogs. However there is a breed of cats called “Maine Coon” which have a distinctive size and appearance as compare to other domestic breeds.
Despite being large in size, Maine coon are quite social. Their nickname is “the gentle giant”. Their ancestral origin is still a mystery hence many folk stories and baseless speculations have been made regarding their origin. The most famous speculation regarding Maine Coon’s ancestors is that they are the result of cross breeding between Cats and Raccoons.
