Why do Turkish people love cats so much?

Here they are just everywhere. Turks love cats for a variety of reasons related to their culture and traditions. For me personally, this became clear when I found out that religion has a place here. In Turkey, there is a tradition of keeping cats in mosques. This is related to the legend of a cat that allegedly saved the life of the Prophet Muhammad by warning him of the approach of the enemy. Since that time, cats are considered good spirits, and there is great respect and care for them. Cats in Turkey are sacred animals, they are part of the life of the Turks and enjoy special care and respect.
