Weird Cat Breed: The Selkirk Rex
The Selkirk Rex is a cat of the Rex breed with a regular-length coat, except that it has curly hair. They come in a short- and long-coated variety and both are quite soft and woolly. The breed comes in all colors, including the pointed, sepia, and mink varieties of albinism; bicolors; silver/smoke; and the chocolate and lilac
This cat breed is being developed as a large, heavy boned cat rather like the British Shorthair in form. The head is round with no flat planes. The curl is plush and loosely curled, showing up more dramatically on the longhair. Selkirks are healthy and sturdy.
One of the newest natural breeds, this naturally curly cat originated from a house cat In 1987. Miss DePesto (name of cat) was found in a shelter in Montana. It was given to Persian cat breeder, Jeri Newman of Montana, who bred it to PhotoFinish of Deekay, a black Persian. Miss DePesto produced three curly kittens out of six – proving that unlike the Devon Rex and Cornish Rex, Miss DePesto's mutation was dominant. Because of this dominant gene, curly kittens can be born in the same litter with straight haired kittens.
The Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) added the breed to its Miscellaneous Class in 1992. The International Cat Association had added it in their New Breed program earlier in 1990 and later awarded the breed full championship recognition in 1994.
The Selkirk Rex are playful but reserved cats that make great companions. They are good with kids and also tolerant of being handled and held.

It's a beautiful cat breed with a thick fluffy coat. These cats just are very comfortable in cool climates and will have a hard time in hot weather but all cats love basking in the morning sun though.

My son saved two kittens today hanging on the ledge. The mother must have left them there. He names them Kyle and Kylie. But when the mother came back, she was furious. So my son let them be.
I wonder if we ever gonna have cats for pets...
