Why do cats Miaow?
Cats make different kinds of noises, but we associate them primarily with the 'miaowing' noise. Why?
Because primarily, that's how they talk to us - not to each other.
Miaowing is how kittens attract their mothers' attention, so this behaviour is mapped onto us.
Every cat's miaow is unique and tailored to best attract the attention of their owners.
