Celebrating the Apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes, France December 8, 2016

For Catholics, Lourdes is a major Marian pilgrimage site.

In 1858 in Massabielle, Our Blessed Mother appeared 18 times to Bernadette Soubirous, a 14 years old pheasant girl, unable to read or write or speak French, only the dialect of Lourdes. Accordingly, uwarranted physical illnesses made it impossible for her to go to school.

" It is because I was the poorest and the most ignorant that the Blessed Virgin chose me..."

The Miracle of the Spring  In the left side of the Grotto is a spring, believed by many Catholics to have caused a lot of miracles. Pilgrims from all over the world always take some water to take home, for future use, for a family or a friend as a gift needing its' healing effect. Testimonies are growing of people being healed after taking some of this water or even after bathing in it.

Scientist have tested this said water for all skeptics questioning this phenomena. And the findings? There's nothing in it to warrant a healing property or whatever one calls it. Miracle?

Sister Bernadette as a nun said this,

"There's nothing special about it, it's the faith of every believer that heals."

In a world where the presence of God can't be seen, where a belief in God is missing, Catholics in their faith believe in the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes for their prayers and intentions to be heard.

There is a call to come drink and bathe in the spring of Lourdes. And by faith, anyone can be healed.
