What is Steem?

According to Wikipedia, Steem is a cryptocurrency based on the social media and content-focused Steem blockchain, which was created on March 24, 2016 by Ned Scott and the blockchain developer Dan Larimer.

My Definition
Steem is a cryptocurrency which is used to power the steemit platform.
I can also define it as a reward for passion!
It is a global community of ambitious, passion-driven and hardworking people.

On the other hand, steemit is a blockchain-based blogging and social media platform, on which users create and curate content and get rewarded with steem.

With the help of DApps like Dtube, Partiko, esteem, Utopian, steem monsters, Actifit etc, earning steem is quite interesting and easy.
