I, personally, would be very happy to see California secede, and be rapidly retaken by Mexico.

This is the same Xavier Becerra that provided a false disk image to the police in order to obstruct the investigation into the Awan spy conspiracy. Even if California secedes, he would be subject to the extant law at the time, covering acts of high treason, IIRC.

It would be a fascinating lesson for California to lose water, federal dollars, and have to actually meet the needs of their population with their own work and resources - until they came groveling back to the US within a year.
