Have You Smiled Today? #26
Did you know that Chicago dumps 40 tons of green dye into the Chicago river for St. Patrick's Day? Well, now you do. It began in 1962. And New York City has one of the world's largest St. Patrick's Day Parade on Fifth Avenue. When you hear people yelling "Erin go Braugh!" at events, it means "Ireland Forever."
Brewers love St. Patrick's Day because the approximate amount spent on beer around the globe for this holiday is $245 million. The traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage eaten on St. Patrick's Day doesn't have anything to do with the vegetable, corn. The large grains of salt that were used to cure meats are called "corns."
According to Irish legend, Leprechauns are part of the fairy family, and are tricksters that cannot be trusted. They are shoemakers and can be heard tapping with their cobbler hammer as they drive the nails into the shoes, as they make them. Leprechaun's are very wealthy from their shoe making and they are paid in gold, and they keep their pots of gold hidden, at the end of a rainbows. It is also said that a Leprechaun will pinch you if you are not wearing green on St. Patrick's Day. Beware of those mischievous, little men!

A cat’s jaw can’t move sideways, so a cat can’t chew large chunks of food.
That's a nice picture of Pachino <3

Hey Friend! I'm back! I've been having a hard time with fibromyalgia and it's horrible pain... I've been away from Steemit! Great to see one of your post :-)
Hey you! So good to hear from you! I knew you were away on your trip and I have been checking every day for the past week to see if you posted abut your trip. I did see the photo of one of the beautiful flowers. I can't wait to hear all about your trip! I will check again after I send this comment.
Sorry to hear about your Fibro pain. Do you think it is from going from warm weather back to cold weather? This has been the worst winter for me because of the dampness, wind and freezing cold. I have been living like a hermit because of the extreme pain. Hope you feel better real soon. Hugs! : )
Yes I'm sure the extreme change in the temperature has something to do with it and the traveling time...
I'll be posting about that eventually... Getting back on track :-)
Hope spring will come soin for you too :-)
Hugs!
Happy St. Patricks Day!!!!
Thank you! Same to you! : )
I did not know all the facts about St. Patrick's day. That is a lot of dye going into the river...

Ah! "You are much welcome, my lovely brother".....
Have a wonderful day, my dear sis! ;)
Maybe Pachino could put on a small green coat and run around as Leprechaun and pinch people? ;) Happy St. Patricks's Day!
HaHa! That would be cute! Sorry for the late reply. I was out of town. Thanks for stopping by! : )
No worries, I can't be on Steemit every day, anyway.! I actually thought you might be "recovering" from St Patrick's Day, lol!
