You can take a couple days on the intro, posts are paid out after 7 days and after that you can't earn any more steem from them, so having an intro soon would help this post and whatever other ones you do see some views and votes.
Also, feel free to post some of your older stuff, I don't think there is a post limit so you can do a couple a day if you want to run through your backlog, might be a decent strategy to hold off until you get some followers though.
