When Dreams come true - My Wörthersee tour 2k18 ~ part 1.

in #cars6 years ago

Hello fellow Steemians,

Today I would like to share my dream that came true last weekend when I got a chance to take a road trip to Wörthersee that is a beautiful village and a big lake in Austria. Also surrounded with trees, mountains and awesome curvy back roads that got us there.

Wörthersee or Lake Wörth is located in southern Austria, around 100 kilometers from Slovenian border and it's a beautiful and quite big lake with tiny villages and a local road going all around it. Ask Wiki for more

Last Saturday me and my brother both washed and prepared our cars to go on my first ever Wörthersee - GTI Treffen or a huge and well known car meet in Europe that has been running every year for over 37 years!

It's been my dream to get here even before I ever had my car license, that means at least 6 years and plenty of hours of Youtube's videos watching its, seeing that lake, cheering-happy crowds of people and of course as a Volkswagen lover, all the cars, mixture and tradition seen in all those beautiful cars.

Yeah there was even a VW party boat and a special spot shooting for everyone to take a photo on the dock n' drive away for next one.

I was stoned when I recieved the ticket and drove for few kilometers by the lake till we found a nice spot to park our cars and go on one of those walks I will Never forget.

It was a special feeling with my awesome bruderus and his family with two little dude's on board, entering the event area, I was blown away with everything all the awesome vibes, seeing passion in people's eyes and their builds, stickers, sound of the cars passing, realizing how beautiful and huge everything is and alot of "slammed" cars on the ground. <3

The event made the tiny village huge as we just walks really slowly pass everything, we had a nice sunny weather and lot of beauties and tons of hours spent on the cars and almost smelling tradition in the air, besides burning rubber, lots of petrol fumes, beer, baking bbq and awesomesauce.

I forgot several times in one day that we're actually by the lake the whole time because just sitting on a bench and staring at everything was like a fairytale for those several hours to me.

Can't decide my favorite of this part but if I could pick one car to take for a drive from these photos it would definitely be this gorgeous Porsche 911 from 1981 with bolt on's and those amazing original BBS wheels!

Yeah even vans were included and one or two classic T2 Transporters "working" pick up vans that were modified in something like an ice cream truck.

What car would you pick for a ride ?

This is the end of part 1 of my tour to Wörthersee GTI event in Austria, as I said before it's been amazing and definitely one of my best ever road trips that I will NEVER forget! Sorry for making a bit longer post, but I haven't posted lately because of being busy with work and getting my life back together, but decided to get back to active steeming again.

This trip has definitely touched my heart, been a dream come true and I definitely couldn't go on it without all the help and motivation my brother is giving me when ever I need him, even if we're sometime half of the world away. Not sure if he will see this but..

Hvala bruderus!

More photos of our road trip coming soon in my next part, I hope you enjoyed, have a great day!

Sort:

Not one Mk2 Golf 🧐 few Mk2 Jettas and Mk1 Golfs though, this is on the list for the coming years, possibly in the Mk2 and a Golf R.

Is that a Murcielago in the last photo? Why would someone do that?

But that 1981 Porsche though. Gives me funny (but good) feelings in some places...

Actually it was the huracan, with air ride, more coming soon. Why not? Air rides are much more advanced now and there are also magnetic suspention. :)
