Williams FW41 - the first car

Williams introduced a new car, which for the British team was built by Mercedes-based Paddy Lowe. According to the 55-year-old specialist, the main difference of the new car was the aerodynamic concept.

"The car has many new features, most of which are invisible. In terms of appearance, we chose a completely different aerodynamic approach, which gave us a notable advantage in this area. All the new cars of Formula 1 are evolution, but FW41 in many directions comes from what was in the past. Our philosophy has changed with regard to the interaction of aerodynamics with the rest of the car's design.
Aerodynamics, internal organization and weight - these are the three main directions in the creation of the car of Formula-1. We radically changed many things to get the benefit of the Mercedes engine, and this work allowed the creation of the FW41.
