Renault 4
Who didn't have Renault 4 doesn't know what he missed. Owners of Golf II, Yugo45 or Fiat 126 (at our area known as 'peglica') or Fiat 600, might say the same. There are some legendary cars from the past that will never become appreciated as old timers but for sure marked an era.
Renault 4 is the third best-selling car in history.
The other day I was driving and noticed the Renault 4 on the roof. Actually one was on the roof and the other one parked on the street. :))
The car was shown in France in August 1961 and the production stopped in 1992.
Although it was not a beauty or a quality, many traveled the world in that car.
Golf II
Golf II was presented at the car show in 1983 and stopped producing in 1992.
It was 'Das Auto' when it showed up. :)
Yugo 45
Yugo 45 was one of the favorite cars for this Balkan area.
This car was exported to the US in the late 80s but recently I've read that it has been declared as the worst car in history. :D
Yugo will be known for a long time because it was a movie star, and also played a role in some cartoons.
A lot of jokes were told...
Fićo/Fitito
Zastava 750 is a car produced under license from Fiat 600, here it had a nickname Fićo, in Argentina they called it Fitito.
He was not only known in Italy but Spain, Argentina, Malaysia...
All of these cars I still sometimes see on Croatian roads.
Young generations soon won't be able to recognize these cars but for us, with happy memories, it would be nice to sit in one of these legends again.
Old habits die hard.
