Will Ferrari make an electric supercar?
International Auto Show in Detroit has brought up an interesting story about an electric super car by Ferrari. Can this be a challenge for Tesla? Speaking at the occasion, Ferrari CEO Sergio Marchionne claimed that the company would release it before the Tesla Roadster hits the road in 2020.
Although there are many big players in electric car making, but super car is the one not to be made by everyone. Sergio Marchionne is very optimistic that if there is any electric race car, then it will be by Ferrari.
According to Sergio Marchionne, these electric super cars can only be a successful business if it is made just like Ferrari business model. You will have to put a limit on the number of units to produce to maintain brand name which in return will generate profits for the company. Now only time will tell if Ferrari can achieve this proclamation.
