Henry Ford's first car! 🚗
A replica of the first car build by Henry Ford was on show at cars in the park.
The car was called a Quadricycle because Henry Ford used the techniques of bicycle building to construct the Quadricycle.
Henry Ford built a single cylinder engine in 1893. I always thought the first cars were built on the turn of the 20th century but Henry proved me wrong.
The first engine was started up with the help of Henry's wife Clara by fitting the single cylinder engine to the kitchen sink.
Henry then built a two cylinder engine that produced 4 horsepower. This was placed in the bicycle like four wheel frame and with that Henry's first car was built. It had a maximum speed of 32km/h!
The car had two gears and was sold for $200!!
He built another in 1899 and then again in 1901. This is where the Ford motor company originated from in 1903
Can you believe, Ford is still going strong!
Cheers 🍻🍻
I took the photos with my iPhone.

I used to drive an Opel Cadet Snow, 4 gear sports version; the pick up was phantabulous! I can imagine having 2 gears - zero to hero in one shift.... :D
Cool history snippet @marcel1965. How times have changed in a century.
Interesting post
They see me rolin.....
Great piece of history
Really appreciate you sharing this. Most of us know Henry Ford made the automotive for the masses starting with the Model A in 1903; we easily forget it took him 10+ years of experimentation to get there.
