When it comes to having a car which one hopes to modify in the future, then one of the most popular choice amongst car enthusiasts has been the Mahindra Thar. And, when it comes to modifying a car then there’s hardly anyone who does it better than DC design. Now, there seems to be a car that might just be the perfect option for those looking for a customised Thar as DC has come out with its own version of it and it is called Hammer.

Interestingly, you can have your Thar customised as the Hammer at a price of Rs 5.95 lakh onwards. There’s a catch, though, as only 300 units of the same will ever be made making it a limited run collector’s item.

Despite having a large number of modifications, the Hammer manages to have a striking resemblance to the silhouette of the original Thar. But it is when you look closer that you realise just how much work has gone into it. The front end of the car is completely rebuilt with the addition of new headlamps, fog lamps and auxiliary lights. The hood of the car has been redesigned too as it now gets a scoop giving the car a muscular stance. Although, it is unclear whether the package by DC includes any mechanical upgrades to the car.

From the side, you will notice that the DC Hammer gets classic looking rims with a chrome finish and that looks absolutely fantastic. There’s chrome finishing on the door hinges and the door handle as well. And, the indicators on the side is a strip of light which gives the car a modern touch. There’s contouring around the footboard and the side view mirrors are huge which should make for great visibility for the driver. The shoulder line has been reworked as a well which not only makes the car look more muscular but should also result in a larger cabin space.

The restyling carries over inside the cabin as well as the interiors have been given a red finish which is complemented by wooden-finish elements around the centre console as well as the doors. The steering wheel has been given a dual-tone finish and it bears the DC badge on it. There are several chrome elements inside the cabin, like on the glovebox but the biggest attraction has to be the inclusion of a large touchscreen infotainment screen on the dash

The Hammer gets well-cushioned seats and wrapping things up is the redesigned roofline of the cabin which now comes with chrome-finished housings around the new cabin lights.

So what do you think of the new DC Hammer. Is it one of the best custom jobs on a Mahindra Thar that you have come across or do you have ideas that could have made it better?
