Cult cars of the 90s - McLaren F1 [#1]
McLaren F1
It is a supercar that has permanently inscribed in the history of motoring. As the first production vehicle it exceeded the limit of 385 km / h (exactly 386.47 km / h). This was in 1998. It was not until seven years later that the record was defeated by Koenigsegg CCR.
It's a monster
The car has a 3-seat layout - one at the front and two at the rear. It is driven by the 6.1-liter BMW V12 engine. Generating power 627 hp. This is a lot considering the low weight of the vehicle - 1140 kg. This gives a power / weight ratio of 550 hp / ton. For comparison, Ferrari Enzo - 434 hp / ton and Bugatti Veyron - 530 hp / ton.
Acceleration
The car reaches the first 100km / h in 3.2 seconds, and the top speed is 371 km/h in the version with a limit of 7500 RPM and 386 km/h without limiter (achieved at 7800 RPM).
Only 100 vehicles of this type were created, of which only 65 were road cars - the rest were racing LM (5 vehicles ), GT (2 vehicles) and GTR (28 vehicles).
Great car, a legendary car...
