Rover 3500 estate.

in #cars6 years ago (edited)

From the All British day in Brisbane Australia. We have this rare Rover 3500 V8 estate. These were saloons that have been converted by a coach building company and were sold with full warranties from Rover through there dealers. It is believed around 200 of these had been built.

I never thought I would see one here in Australia so very cool to see in person. I used to own a couple of the saloon version in V8 automatic form. Very impressive cars for there day. Alloy V8s or overhead cam four cylinder plus a choice of manual or automatic transmissions. All have four wheel independent suspension with disk brakes all round. And aluminum bonnet/hood as well as the boot/trunk lid. All body panels are not structural and can all be unbolted including roof and sill panels ect.

In this photo below and one above you can see a saloon version beside this estate.

Thanks for viewing and hope you have a top day.

I've never seen an estate (wagon) version before. Didn't know they existed actually. Learn something new every day huh?

I guess for me that car is not much to look at...maybe it is an American thing

Don't know though it was originally designed to have a jet turbine engine. So it was designed differently from other vehicles.
