What kind of car is this?

Infiniti QX30 - "upbeat" version of the hatchback Q30, built on the platform of the Mercedes-Benz A-class.

From small cars most often you do not expect excellent driving qualities. In part, this is dictated by the laws of physics, in part by the laws of marketing.

The first suggest that a light car with a short wheelbase is more prone to various shocks and shifts, especially at high speed, although from the point of view of handling there are, of course, more advantages in comparison with large cars.

And the second say that small cars and should not go very well, otherwise nobody will buy more cars and, accordingly, more expensive.

My little experience with Mercedes A-class a few years ago only confirms these theses. So I was pleasantly surprised at how it behaves on the road Infiniti QX30.

Despite the kinship with the aforementioned "Mers", the Japanese seem to be a car of another breed.

Infiniti QX30 has simply excellent suspension. On the one hand, it is sufficiently dense to prevent the crossover-specific build-up at speed. When you go to the Infiniti QX30 on the road with an average degree of scall , even quite noticeable pits respond in the cabin only with slight jolts.

On large pits and irregularities, the density of the suspension makes itself felt more and the Infiniti QX30 begins to look more like a German car.

But in general, I would describe the suspension of the Infiniti QX30 as very comfortable.

The combination of a 211-strong turbo with a 7-step "robot" with two clutches, I would call very successful. The reactions are exacerbated, turning the Infiniti QX30 into a pretty interesting "lighter".

Perhaps, for the true fan of high-speed maneuvers, the steering settings in the Infiniti QX30 will not seem sharp enough. But in general, the car ruled very predictably and accurately.

Impressive clearance (202 mm) and full drive allow you to safely move to the Infiniti QX30 with asphalt. But you need to remember, of course, that the car is not an SUV and it is not worthwhile to force a swamp on it.
