Touring Superleggera Sciadipersia
Surprising, this new GT of the Italian body Touring Superleggera called Sciadipersia. Like the one made for the Shah of Iran in 1958, Touring reuses the undersides of a Maserati.
This is the premiere of Touring Superleggera at the Geneva Motor Show next week. After the Flying Disco based on the Alfa Romeo 8C and the Berlinetta Lusso around a Ferrari F12, the carrozzeria Milanese currently builds ten copies of the Sciadipersia. It is made around a Maserati GranTurismo. As the coachbuilder had done in 1958 for the Shah of Iran with a Maserati 5000 GT.
Four places
"I wanted to make a modern interpretation of a Gran Turismo car," says Belgian designer Louis de Fabribeckers. The Sciadipersia does not bathe in the retro to excess. Only his elongated back refers to the 5000 GT Shah. "But the intent is exactly the same as what the Shah of Iran asked our company at the time: a coupe in which you can travel at high speed for a long time and comfortably. It's a real four places. "
301 km / h
The Sciadipersia keeps the V8 of the Maserati, with 460 hp and 520 Nm on the rear wheels. Its top speed is 301 km / h. It goes from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.7 s. For the first time at Touring, the body is made of carbon rather than aluminum. But it is still entirely handmade. Illuminated by a panoramic roof, the interior is very similar to that of the Maserati but benefits from a leather upholstery and some specific inserts. The production of each model takes 6 months. The price .... Touring remains discreet about it. The only bargain: a Maserati GranTurismo is not the most expensive on the second-hand market.
