Are Rain-X wipers any good?

in #cars8 years ago (edited)

So I bought these Rain-X Latitude wipers about three months ago and at first I thought they were the greatest thing since sliced bread, so what do I think about them now?

They are the best thing since sliced bread! At least the best thing for wiping windows. I have tried many different wipers through the years and these are the best. I thought about writing a review of them when I got them but didn't think about it again until I was driving in the rain today and still marveling at them.

For starters they are a very nice set of replacement wipers. They don't streak, chatter or squeak and unlike any other wipers I have ever used they are actually compatible with my BMW using the included brackets. They replaced some terrible Michelin wipers that were absolute shit, they cleared only a patch of my window, I bought them on sale for $5 at my supermarket.

Pro Tip: You can reuse the bracket from your BMW wipers with any brand of wiper that won't normally fit by just carefully snapping off the bracket that goes inside of the hook at the end of the wiper.

It was great to buy a pair of wipers and have them snap right in with the included brackets. What puts these over the top though is they have Rain-x magic somehow impregnated into the wipers.

I think even my shitty cellphone photo makes it clear how amazing the power of Rain-X is.

In the picture above the car was sitting in the rain for a few minutes with no wiping, where the wipers had wiped the water beads and were they had not it does not. It is fucking awesome.

What really inspired me to write this today was that I was driving my wife's brand new Toyota Rav-4 and the stock wipers although they are new are shit compared to the Rain-X. The Rain-X Latitude make driving in the rain much less unpleasant, in fact, they almost make it pleasant. I don't know who awarded them product of the year but I may have to agree with them, I can't think of any better products of late. Rain-X is great stuff but you have to actually bother to buy and apply it and you never really think about it unless you are driving in the rain. I thought maybe the Rain-X effect would wear off but after 3 months it is still going strong. This is definitely easier than dealing with rain

I was not paid for writing this review nor did I get these wipers for free, they are about $16 each at Walmart. I can't remember if I got them there or at Autozone. However, if you are in the Rain-X marketing department I do accept remuneration in the form of SBD, USD and gold. If you have a product and you want to me review it you could send it to me and we can negotiate a reasonable fee.

I know you said you were not paid to write this but it's really good I feel you should be paid by rain-x. Nice post and "they were the greatest thing since sliced bread" that's really funny.

Thanks for taking the time to read and write a comment. I have been thinking about how to leverage steemit as other social media networks can be leveraged by including native advertising.
