Are you ready to race?

in #cars7 years ago (edited)

I know i am. We entered the car from my earlier build post in world of wheels. Wish us luck. We have put a LOT of blood sweat and tears into this thing. Notice the big trophy on the back proves it , that is our track championship trophy from 2017 season where our next closest competitor was 300 points behind us. So one more weekend of looking pretty then its next time out it will be going to war.

i tagged steemit just to say thanks to everyone who has upvoted me and followed me as every penny of that will go towards keeping this car on the track and in first place.

Nice an good luck for this season. around what time do you usually start racing again?

this is the B mod, first race is april 7 if we go to our normal track, march 17th if we go up to I-35 speedway. depends on how far we feel like driving. it will probably be in march though if weather cooperates

It is coming soon I am shure you will keep us updated lol

Yep. We are about to start making a new right rear suspension for the A mod that i designed myself. We will see how it turns out. Completely new design .

The car looks just fuckin awesome! I also build a racecar with a student team and I know how much effort and work it takes to build something like that. I would really love to drive a car like that!

thanks. i also have a build post farther down to where it was a bare tube chassis. this is 1 of 2 cars. it is what they call a B modified. it is about 350 hp. my brother in law drives this one. The other one my father in law drives and it is an A modified, it puts down over 600 hp. that car is a real handful. what kind of racecars do you build with the student team?

The competition is called "formula studend". Students all around the world build a racecar and compete in static and dynamic disciplines. Lots of fun and competitive as fuck. A team from germany for example set an world record for the fastest acceleration from 0-100 in just 1,5sec.

Me in one of the racecars

now that is bad ass. that kind of acceleration will feel like someone punched you in the chest.

Must feel really sick for sure. Can not even imagine. I drove a 650bhp car once but you can not compare that imo

yeah plus they race these things in high gear only from the start. once the car is started the flywheel actually stops moving. you have to press the clutch down to engage the flywheel to start it. then motor wise it is a small block chevy , the B mod is allowed to spin to 7200 rpm and our A mod which is a Dart block small block chevy that is 421 cubic inches and it spins up to 8400 rpm. usually on the tracks we run on the rear axle gear ratio is between a 5.83 to a 6.50. We usually stick to a 6.0 gear on the track we have been winning at. we are also allowed to run a quick change rear end on both cars this year so that will be new and fun.

I t sure will. Because of you I am all fired up now! Cant wait to sit on my bike and BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPP!

glad i could be of assistance. hopefully we both have some good automotive articles this year. that seems to e almost non existant around here. have fun on your bike and be careful.

Brought home a trophy this weekend at the car show20180210_174136.jpg

Also added a little something for our E-85 advertisement
