Chevrolet Corvair Spyder - The grandfather of all modern turbo cars
Nowadays turbos in cars are very common and sometimes people just expect them. But in the early sixties turbos were even invented yet. In 1964 Chevrolet produced the first passenger car (corvair spyder) with a turbo that increased the overall power by 48%. It uses the exhaust fumes to run the turbo, which compresses the air/fuel mixture.
The Corvair engine has 150 HP around 4000 RPM. It does have a nice boost when the turbo kicks in.
