Old Colorado City Car Show 2018
This event takes place right underneath my balcony! Lucky for me, I get to watch all these cars without even leaving my house but, today we get down on street level so you can see it too. This car show is an annual event in Colorado Springs in an area called Old Colorado City which is a historic “Old West” town. All of the buildings down here are late 1880’s to about 1925 and this area once was a booming town servicing the gold mining industry which is still in operation about 40 min away and up the mountain pass. This area was where the gold was refined, hotels, bars, general stores, etc. Having a classic car show on this street just feels right! Enjoy.

With the gold mining, is it like sometimes showed on TV. That people are still comming over the try and reach that fortune on a piece of land? (like the documentaries on Discovery Channel), or is that truely romantisized?
Well our gold mine here is still producing gold but it’s now owned by a South African company for some reason. People do pan for gold up in the mountains while camping sometimes but, for the most part there s not much gold mining being done other than big huge companies around here.
Gold is so cheap right now. Seems weird that the dollar is currently a stronger play than gold.

That security guard story reminded me of a story about a guy getting thrown out of a bar in NYC. May be an old story but it was a good one so those get better with time. :)

In Michigan we just had the dream cruise in Detroit. Now that’s a good way to see some amazing classic cars.
I saw the Dream Cruise show on YouTube. One of the guys I follow is a trucker and was there last week to film it. Nice cars....and a lot of them. Detroit Rock City!
It’s pretty amazing. Now I just need to get my own classical car to join the fun.
