If you miss a sporty-elegant sedan, you first choice is the CLS Mercedes Benz. The Germans re-discovered this interesting segment of cars and therefore they deserve to get credit for it.

CLS has always looked special and the third generation is not lagging behind. The front is very interesting, the mask works much more sporty than a very long side reveals. Elegance has a low roof and doors without frames, so CLS leaves a striking impression anywhere it apperas, but i felt surprised, not very pronounced, although some people just like it.

Driving is primarily a relaxation. Air body control should be at the top of the compulsory surcharge list because it really relieves even if you have large 20-inch rims. Overall, of course, it's not as smooth as in class E, because the CLS can occasionally be a bit more dynamic, but it's important that a car of this type can be comfortable for those who want it. Pardon, they demand, for such money, drivers are entitled to get something more. The more can be autonomous driving. The CLS knows how to drive a lot on its own, as it reads speed limits on signs, in the navigation, cameras and sensors they observe the lines that they know how to turn the steering wheel around, the radar cruise control controls the distance to the vehicles in front himself, can bypass the vehicle in front of you, With a guide, almost everything can already be done by himself, but you still have to hold the steering wheel, clearly.



Driving can also be quite fast. The engine is top-notch; diesel six-cylinder, no more V-shaped, three-liters compress 210 kilowatts, that is, 286 'horses'. As much as 600 Nm of torque is already from 1,200 rpm, it also pulls well at low revs. And when you add an excellent 9-speed transmission, it's clear to you that this is a mechanical one, worth the stars on the nose. What do I like best in practice? Even at 165 kilometers per hour the speeds are not higher than 2 thousand! He is a real king on the motorways, because he is extremely neutral and pleasant.

The ride can also be quite dynamic. Not sporty, quick. The car weighs at least two tons and it is virtually five meters long, so it does not jump as a ballerin between the bends, but it moves very highly. It's precisely because of the torque you get out of the bend, and the gearbox is fast in the sports program and waiting for your reaction. Even the feeling in the sport + mode is not bad, everything gets pretty hard, basically too hard, so I still like CLS when it's set to comfort and then the driver just enjoys cruising. With a nice ride it consumes about eight liters, which is a great result for such a power and size of a car. The four-wheel drive is also an excellent trail, which you will not feel comfortable with and will be set so that most of the time most of the torque is back. The nose is relieved and you feel that you drive a car driven behind, which is just a plus. This does not mean that you will sweep out the abyss, because it is too cumbersome for something like this, but you will quickly find out how very stable it is during a long-range long-range drive, as the wheelbase is only 6 centimeters shorter than three meters.

Why is it worth 112 thousand euros? Well, because it's really special. There is not much cars on the road, and it's clear that anyone who can afford it will not give 79 for the basic, but chose at least the look of the AMG line, not to mention the airborne chassis and leather in the interior. Luckily, they made a little more effort in selecting materials and finishing, so that at least in the test case, there was no sound of scratching the plastic, as in the C models and even E, which we had not recently had on the test. It also shows two more massive 12.3-inch front-facing displays, one replacing analogue meters and control lights. Sometimes we wish that designers would give even more impulse to the design of digital meters, because it is no longer necessary to make some analogue substitutes, but they can go in a completely new direction, as they are not limited by anything more. But while observing the gauges, one more thing is interesting: the steering wheel is not exactly in the center, but everything is shifted slightly to the right. Little, probably not noticeable by anyone, but I forgot about it after the second kilometer.
