Hummer is one of those vehicles with a special history.
Derived from a military vehicle, the first Hummer - the H1 model - launched in 1992 under the AM General logo, was practically the second attempt by the Americans to transform a military appliance machine into a consumer market product. Successful operation.
The new model is perceived as a revelation, and the local market responds to expectations. In 1995, the company sold the Hummer brand to General Motors, which exploited the ever-increasing demand for SUVs.
Hummer H1 was the base from which GM started to build the Hummer brand. Based on the Humvee military concept, since 1992, 12,000 copies have been built.
"It's a reflection of the direction we want to follow with the Hummer brand," says general manager Hummer Martin Walsh. "The Hummer brand still has the DNA of the old Humvee ... It will always be marked as the place from where we left."
Walsh also added that Hummer plans to focus on larger-size models in the public market instead of the Hummer H1 marketplace.
The Hummer H1 consumes around 24 liters per 100 kilometers, but the director says the increase in fuel prices has influenced GM's decision. He pointed out that those who buy Humer H1 do not specifically take into account consumption and fuel prices.
