Hello car lovers!

Another car show in Belgrade has finished, the most important event in the year in the car world, the most momentous event for all lovers of these cars. About 350 producers from over 20 countries of the world presented themselves at this year's salon. Huge number, isn't it? The car show for me is one of the most important events of the year, and I look forward to it every year. You just learn how to enjoy in this engineering world, in constant competition of the world's largest brands, which emerge from year to year their new models, with improved performance, better protection systems, better technology, and improved design. This race to keep you constantly better than the competition simply forces you to go beyond your limits. If you repeat the production for a couple of years, you will lose a bunch of customers. These are the problems that every car industry faces, an inexhaustible struggle, research, innovation, implementation.

As every year, the manufacturers are divided into several halls, the premium segment is separated from the medium and low class cars. In my today's text, I will present you some of the most interesting innovations, as well as engineering solutions that outperform competition. Each of us will say that the premium segment is still the best, that it still has highest quality, which is why it is a premium. But is it worth it to give an enormous amount of money for a premium car and what does it offer for that money? My opinion after the fair that just ended is that the premium producers are getting more and more lousy, they get customers based on their brend and fame, and they do not offer anything more than a premium for large sums of money. In my text, I will show you interesting vehicles both from premium and from the middle segment, where you will have the opportunity to see and judge who and how much effort is being made to innovate. A car that definitely makes a difference and attracts attention next to many other cars is the new MERCEDES CLS. Mercedes has definitely worked a lot on the design of the new CLS, so it looks so good that it's almost impossible not to turn around for such a car. This car took many systems from the S class, so Mercedes fans can enjoy in luxury but for much less money than the S class price. Mercedes will offer only 3 engines with this model, which you will admit is not a varied range, one petrol and 2 diesel engines with a volume of 3 liters. This is the only novelty I've ever seen on the Mercedes-Benz stand, there are many last year's models that you can see below, which still keep their high prices.

Trying to break the monotony and introduce a little exotic to this car show was tried on the ferrari stand with the model FERRARI GTC4 LUSSO. I will say only, already seen, since this car was introduced in 2016.

I present you now the pearl of technology HONDA CIVIC TYPE R.

This is not a car which many people will love on first sight, but it is certainly a car which you will love after the first drive. For my taste, this car is perfect, the real miracle of the engineering world. And not only that, the Type R has already entered in the history of the car world by winning in Nürburgring and breaking the record for front-wheel drive cars! Honda has invested heavily in this car, and that effort paid off, and I have only praise for this miracle. Below you will also see the recognizable Civic design with a lot of sharp edges, a real RED BEAST.

The HYUNDAI i30N is Korea's powerful response to Honda Civic type R. We are used to hyundai mid-range cars, a nice and compact car with average equipment and average performance, just one average. But the i30N is here to break myths about Hyundai all cars. This car was designed and built by engineers from the AMG and BMW(M team), and this is now far from an average car. This Hyundai offers unbelievable driving performance, there's no compromise on this car, it's absolutely in its place, which is one great praise for Hyundai engineers, and this is the first real sport car that this automotive industry has produced. The only thing that fans are criticizing on this car is a too "soft" look, for cars of such performance there is a need for a "beast" look, so it is probably the direction in which the engineers will continue the development of this model.

PEUGEOT 3008 - "The beauty of the beast"

The French lion was declared for the best car in 2017 in Geneva, which is not surprising, if you compare it to his predecessor, you will realize how far this new generation has moved up. Peugeot with this model is slowly progressing to the premium segment, the quality of production has increased, the quality of materials also, which is unfortunately reflected on the price of this model, which is not so small.

INFINITY Q60-Q70

Infinity is not a car that is too prevalent in Serbia, since it belongs to the premium segment, buyers do not dare, in addition to popular brands such as Mercedes, Audi and BMW, to invest in this beauty. What a pity, given that the engineers of Nissan know how to make a seriously good car. Watch the incredible Japanese design and you will not remain indifferent.

The superstar of the Belgrade car show is certainly Lamborghini Hurricane, which is also the most expensive car on show. This model has been specifically made for racing, and besides the price of approximately 400,000 euros, another 300,000 are invested to bring Lamborghini into this state. The whole wealth for this beast.

Ultimate SUV - The strongest representatives of this segment, as well as the representatives who left the biggest impression on me, are certainly JEEP WRANGLER and ISUZU DMAX. The Wrangler 2018 is restyled compared to its predecessor, and the biggest change is seen in the interior. This is a real SUV with emphasis exclusively on field skills, and he is currently one of the best terrain vehicle in the car world. This is definitely an SUV that will not be liked by everyone because of its specific appearance, but my opinion is that it is one of the most beautiful off-road vehicles and this design gives him some kind of originality. On the other hand, ISUZU is a pickup truck where luxury and comfort are not at the forefront. This is an extremely capable truck, affordable prices with excellent off-road capabilities, one serious competitor to all producers in this segment.

Finally, I would like to present you the Formula Team, the team of students from the Faculty of Mechanical engineering, on which i also study. This car show was a unique opportunity to show what this students are capable to make. They worked on researching, testing, creating and folding of absolutely every part of the formula for the purpose of the International Competition, on which this team appears each year. In addition to the extensive knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering offered by the faculty this is also a unique opportunity for every student to design and make a final product. This formula is the pride of the Faculty of Mechanical engineering, as well as the future engineers who worked on its creation.
