Real Life in The Caribbean

in #caribbean7 years ago

Many see the Caribbean and think its all beaches and margaritas. Sometimes it is but its so much more. The Caribbean people are some of the most diverse in the world. there are 27 island and parts of South America that consider themselves Caribbean ie Belize, Surinam, and Guyana. The Caribbean was conquered by so many different countries this lead to a blend of languages, people and food like no where else. One would say English is most widely spoken, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Bahamas, Grenada, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Dominica, Cayman, Anguilla, Antigua, Virgin Island and Turks and Caicos being the ones that come to mind, Then Spanish in Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, Then French in Haiti, Gadaloope and Martinique, there is even Dutch spoken in Surinam and St Martin. Now with some many languages being so close mixes of these languages happen all the time, not to mention the languages of the people who were brought here to work the fields. There is a mix of African, Indian, Chinese, Spanish and White everywhere. There is even a mix of religion. In Trinidad all the religion lives in harmoney. There is so much to say about the real lives of those of us who live here. its going to be interesting. check back in a few days when I have time I will go into a bit of how we live.

Seems like a great area to live in with some of the best weather the planet has to offer. Also the pirate history is really great to relish in and read up about. Maybe find some leftover treasure haha. Have fun out there and good luck with your future posts!
