The Meaning of Prancing Horse in Ferrari Logo

Super car Ferrari has a distinctive logo. Almost everyone knows that the prancing horse logo with a red background is the logo of a Ferrari car. So, what is the meaning behind the logo?

As quoted Caradvice, Wednesday (06/28/2017), the logo of the horse taken from a fighter piloted by a man named Francesco Baracca. The airplane driven by Baracca became the inspiration for the Ferrari founder, Enzo Ferrari, making it a company logo. Ferrari himself also been a soldier.

Enzo Inspiration makes the horse a corporate logo inspired by Baracca's mother, Countess Paolina. According to the mother, the horse is a symbol of luck. Therefore, Enzo makes the horse as the logo of the aircraft homemade in the hope that this plane is not easily shot down by the enemy.

After no longer a soldier and dabbling in the world of aerodynamics, Enzo pursue the automotive world. He still maintains the prancing horse logo on his homemade car.

He then drew a horse, but with a yellow background. The shield first appeared in 1932 in the Alfa Romeo car of the Scuderia racing team.

From then on, the Prancing Horse badge always appeared, and eventually became the hallmark of Ferrari. The shape also has not changed much since it was first produced.
