Getting started and refurbishing old parts! - #2 Datsun 240z build
Here we go again!
These photos is from when I first started out on the car. First I had to take of all the parts that were left on the car, drivetrain, brakes, fuel lines, steering coloumn etc etc etc.
If you know how to rotate pictures, please let me know😁
I expected this job to be an absolute pain in my butt, but the bolts were like new. Once untightened, I could unscrew them by hand! Which is rare on an almost 50 year old car I would say.
As soon as everything was out I started refurbishing all drivetrain parts and screws. Everything was in a rustbath for 24 hours prior to touching the rusted out parts. This rustsolution is one of the most amazing thing I’ve ever worked with. Easily took away days of work just because of how well it worked.
After the solution had worked for 24 hours, i took them out and started working on the parts with a metal brush. Then finished it all of with a nice cleaning so that the chassis primer would stick.

Sorted out some space in my basement as I have little to no space for parts in my tiny garage. This also cleared up so much space for me that I know can easily work on the car without having a suspension rod up my ... 😂
Anyway, see you in the next one🙌🏼
