Strain Review: King's Kush
It’s Sunday night as I'm writing this review, I picked up King’s Kush on Friday so I’ve had the whole weekend to become familiar with this strain. According to Leafly, King’s Kush is derived from OG kush and a grape strain, it can have up to 20% THC. I will be reviewing the strain in five categories; bud structure, smell, smoke, taste, and effect.
Bud Structure:
The nugs are pretty small in general which is disappointing because big nugs are awesome, however these are very densely coated with trichomes which makes up for it. The buds are also very dense as is common with many indica strains. This kush also has pistils that are orange and red which give it a cool look. It grinds up very nicely so it rolls into great joints that smoke very smooth. Rating 7/10
Smell:
When I picked up the bud on Friday, this buds smell was very strong and it smelled like pine, citrus and grape. Today it seems like it lost some of that grape scent and the pine scent became dominant. The citrus is still there and adds a very nice smell mixed with the earthy pine scent. Correction Right after I wrote that, I realized I should smell it again after grinding up the nugs, after the bud was ground it released more of that grape scent and it smells very kushy. Rating 9/10
Smoke:
Rolled into a joint or packed in a pipe this kush smokes really great. It is smooth and not harsh at all, and very easy to inhale. It produces very dense clouds if rolled and packed tight. Rating 10/10
Taste:
This tastes beautiful when smoked in a joint, the kushy flavours mixed with the grape are really tasty. I smoked a joint outdoors in nature surrounded by natural scents which was a very good combination. The smoke tastes like sweet pine with citrus and grape. Rating 9/10
Effect:
When I first smoked this strain on Friday afternoon I had a very low tolerance because I hadn't used any weed since Monday. I rolled up a joint and about 4 tokes and 20 minutes later I was like…
I was starting to feel very euphoric and was having very interesting motivational thoughts and philosophical questions. This happens when I'm very stoned and is one of the reasons why I use cannabis. There was a some initial paranoia thinking worried I was too high but that passed quickly.
This strain made me very hungry on the come down and I felt very uplifted and relaxed throughout the day. Later on that night I decided to smoke a little bit from my pipe and catch up on the last two episodes from season 4 of The CW’s The 100. It was a very good ending to the season and this heavy indica strain made it really enjoyable to watch while melting into the couch, this strain is perfect for stress-relief, depression, and pain. Rating 10/10
I hope you all enjoyed reading my strain review of King’s Kush, comment below if you've smoked this strain before and your thoughts about it.
