The Green Goddess is all Sweet Roses and Luscious Grapefruit.steemCreated with Sketch.

It's been a while since I have taken the time to do a cannabis strain review.

As a result, I thought I would showcase the Green Goddess which was grown by a small cannabis craft grower with tender loving care. (This was very evident through the entire preparation and ingestion process.)

You can look for this strain at better dispensaries, like 420 Legacy in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in southeastern, Ontario Canada.

Dispensaries are still currently illegal in Canada, but on First Nations Reserves, which are self-governing, the rules are different.

On some reserves, depending on the approval of the band council of that territory, they are permitted to sell cannabis.

The benefit of shopping for your cannabis medicine through a dispensary is that you can actually see and smell the herb before you purchase it. (I know this fact will seem ridiculous to those of you who live in countries where dispensaries are permitted and it's common to be able to see and smell your buds before you make your buying decision.)

However, (currently in Canada), the only 100% legal way to buy cannabis is if you have a medical license issued by a doctor and you buy it through a company know as a Licensed Producer. These Licensed Producers are government sanctioned, large corporations. They operate via a mail-order system, as per set regulations. This translates into shopping on-line, from an on-line catalog or phoning in and speaking to a customer care/sales person. That person, acts like a quasi-bud-tender, but really they communicate what plant material they have in stock, answer questions and fill orders.

If you have the opportunity to shop at a dispensary like 420 Legacy, it's a true luxury. Most dispensary owners and staff are exceptionally knowledgeable about their plant material. They love it and are passionate about their inventory's medical potency. They know where it was grown and by whose hand. They also let you inspect and smell the buds before any buying takes place. They are the epitome of a "canna-iseur"

This is what Green Goddess looks like in its dried form:

This is one of the larger buds. It is densely compact with fabulously long amber hairs and tiny white crystals on her trichomes.

Green Goddess has an interesting lineage.

Somewhat shrouded in mystery, this bud is listed as a hybrid and I have read that it can be both an Indica dominant or a Sativa dominant hybrid, depending on the terpene and flavinoid content.

We know that her parents can be a mix of:

  1. Citral,
  2. G13 Haze,
  3. Afgani Hawaiian,
  4. Skunk #1 and Sweet Leaf Indica.

Once you start getting into multiple crosses things really start to get more complex in terms of both flavours and effects produced by this bud.

Most of the buds were of an average size and could be easily broken into 4 smaller pieces to fit effortlessly into a grinder.

This is what it looks like once ground:

A closer look.

I loaded this ground herb into my Boundless CF vapourizer and I was instantly greeted by the strong flavour of roses followed quickly by the intensity of grapefruit.

The flavours were so distinctive that I knew straight away what they were. This strain surprised me.

Often, I can only pick up on floral, citrus, pine, cheese or earthy as board-based descriptors for terpenes and flavinoids contained within cannabis.

However, in this particular strain, there was no mistaking the rose and grapefruit. They jumped right out and pleasantly added to the entire experience.

The high was very cerebral at first and then mellowed into a gentle body tingle. It still let me focus on any task that I wanted to undertake, and it eased pain and relaxed my muscles gently. This makes the Green Goddess an exceptional choice for day or night time use. It is versatile.

This strain clocks in at 18% THC and doesn't disappoint. It creates a happy euphoria with no paranoia. Be prepared to giggle and eat. Your eyes and mouth will also be slightly dry. Just expect it and remember to drink some water to keep yourself hydrated.

If you are on a limited budget and need a good well rounded strain, you simply cannot go wrong with the Green Goddess.

She's perfect to have in your plant medicine inventory and I "highly" recommend her to anyone.

I do hope you will enjoy the bouquet of roses and grapefruit as much as I have.

I welcome your comments and invite you to follow me on my journey.

looks like a good one

Thanks @doitvoluntarily! I find these hybrids are like wild cards, you never really know how they are going to preform. It's kind of like receiving an unexpected gift, randomly. This one surprised me with just how well-rounded it was. A winner, if you have a chance to try this particular strain. ;)
